Saundra Johnson

Noted healthcare expert Saundra Johnson has been selected as the new executive director for the Keogh Health Connection. The organization connects underserved individuals and families in need of healthcare and community resources, focusing on disadvantaged women and children who are working toward self-sufficiency.

Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in the Arizona healthcare sector. For nearly a decade, she served in executive leadership capacities at The Flinn Foundation, where she led the bioscience initiative for the organization, as well as strategic development and communications. She also served as president and chief executive officer for both the Arizona Healthcare Federation and the Arizona Affordable Health Care Foundation.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Saundra’s caliber lead our organization,” said Marisue Garganta, president of the Keogh board and director of Community Health Integration at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. “She knows the healthcare community throughout the state, and will help us serve our families even more effectively.”

The Keogh Health Connection works with nearly 70 partners and community organizations to provide direct assistance connecting consumers to health and nutrition programs and referring them to appropriate community resources. It also helps community groups make better referrals to available resources for people in need.

“I’m pleased to join this well-respected organization and help it to expand its outreach,” said Johnson. “This is a very challenging time for working families in Arizona and those who are still struggling to find employment. Our organization can help them better navigate the community resources that are available, to attain greater financial stability and improved personal health.”

Johnson currently serves on the board of directors for the Foundation for Senior Living, and Southwest Behavioral Health Services.
